In CORE, we've been learning about the Japanese and how they used ideas from other parts of Asia, more specifically Korea and China. Some ideas that were used were more important than others. What was the most important idea that was taken from other parts of Asia that Japan used?
An important thing that was used from China by Japan was the Chinese language. At the time, the Japanese had no written language. This also connected to writing, because most literature in Japan was written in Chinese. Even after Japan came up with their own written language, many educated writers and such continued to write in Chinese instead of Japanese. Another thing was architecture. The emperor of the time decided to design the capital of Japan after Chang'an, the capital of China. Japan began to decorate all of their buildings elegantly and as appealing as possible.
